How our freshness started

Our
STORY

Chris and Lorena Roberts are the proud owners of EL Rey Mexican Kitchen. They have been in the catering business for many years working from home. 

 

Chris grew up in Kansas City’s Hispanic West Side. There he learned his way around a kitchen from neighborhood families and local taquerias. These valued friendships provide a deep understanding that strong communities grow from strong partnerships.

 

Lorena is a second generation Mexican American who grew up in Texas. She is inspired by childhood memories of nights in the kitchen with mom and grandma learning old family recipes from Mexico. Lorena brings Mexican tradition and passion to the kitchen.

 

We are creating a family oriented restaurant that has local and fresh ingredients for a daily service. Our ingredients also include authentic Mexican spices and peppers that makes our dishes extra special.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer deliciously fresh, authentic Mexican food made from scratch in a family friendly atmosphere at an affordable price.
